EUNOIA conference on 'Smart Cities, Complexity and Urban Networks'
EUNOIA will be organising a satellite workshop at the European Conference on Complex Systems (http://www.eccs13.eu/), which will take place in Barcelona from 16 to 20 September 2013, with the title 'Smart Cities, Complexity and Urban Networks'. The workshop will be an opportunity to discuss how to address the problems and opportunities opened by smart cities through complex systems theory and methodologies, with particular attention to new data-driven approaches to the study of the formation and evolution of urban networks. A detailed programme and a call for for papers will be published soon at the EUNOIA website.
PS EUNOIA (Evolutive User-centric Networks for Intraurban Accessibility) is a research project funded under the European Union's Seventh Framework Programme ICT Programme. The goal of EUNOIA is to take advantage of the opportunities brought by smart city technologies and the most recent advances in complex systems science to develop new urban models and ICT tools empowering city governments and their citizens to design better mobility policies. The project started in October 2012 and will run for two years.
