USC 2013 Meeting – September 10 and 11, Imperial College, London
We are excited to announce that our Annual Urban Systems Collaborative meeting will be held in the heart of London at the Imperial College in South Kensington. We are grateful to our colleagues from Imperial for making this possible.
Our theme this year is “Cities as a design challenge for Quality of Life”. We have spent several months debating the structure and topics of this meeting in the USC core team and we seem to have finally converged. In keeping with previous USC meetings the London meeting will be a blend of conference and workshop. There will be a small number of short talks and panels, but much of the work will be performed in four teams that will each engage in three parallel sessions to explore our sub-themes:
- The Adaptive City,
- The Personalised City,
- The Supportive City, and
- Perceptions of the Quality of Life
For more details on the thinking behind these themes, please see the 2013 Meeting page where you can download a whitepaper on the meeting also register to attend.
Beginning on Monday 24 June 2013 we will start a series of bi-weekly blog discussions leads by the leaders of the four sessions and we hope that your responses to these blogs will continue to shape the event.
In the coming weeks you will be seeing posting
